Viron Active Glass Media is an advanced media bed designed to optimise the performance and efficiency of your media filter.
Viron Active Glass media provides filtration performance that exceeds that of traditional sand media. It is actively charged which means it will attract particles for improved debris removal and can filter down to a particle size of only 5 microns.
Viron Active Glass filters 30% more organic material than traditional sand and its higher debris-holding capability means that there is a longer time between backwashing which minimises water wastage.
The shape and composition of glass media, as well as the combination of coarse and fine grades, provides better water flow and filtration performance.
Glass media also releases filtered waste effectively during the backwash process, which means backwash times are shorter, again to minimise water wastage.
Because of its ability to reduce water usage, Viron Glass has obtained Climate Care Certification from the Swimming Pool & Spa Association of Australia.

Available in Coarse and Fine Grades:
Both Course and Fine grade glass are required for a Media Filter for best filtration results.
The Finer grade glass with smaller particle sizes is used as the top layer of the media bed inside the filter. This layer provides fine filtration for very small particles of dirt, debris and contaminants.
The coarse grade of glass has a larger particle size and is used to cover the laterals under the media bed inside the filter tank.
